Welcome to Brasão Rosa

Brasão Rosa is your partner for business

A Small Summary

Here is a short summary for our partners, clients, suppliers, and friends of Brasão Rosa, the real reason for this company to be.

In 2005, Fernando Amaral went blind, initiating a psychological journey through the desert, almost aimlessly.

Only in 2008 did Fernando Amaral come to accept his blindness. He attended an intensive computer course for the blind, as well as a course on mobility using a cane for the blind.

In the middle of that year, he believed he could get a job to occupy his time and have more income to help with the family expenses.

He decided to create a project and have his own business, even though he knew there would be obstacles due to his blindness. In July 2008, after doing some tests at the request of his family doctor Dr. Zélia, he was diagnosed with two tumors of considerable size, one in his adrenal gland and the other in his pancreas.

He was immediately examined by the doctor-surgeon Isabel Aleixo, who informed him of the risk of the same tumors, particularly the pancreatic. Fernando was scared, because his sister, mother and niece had already died from the said tumors or “pancreatic cancer”.

After reflecting and meeting with his family, Fernando Amaral, supported by his tireless wife, decided to opt for surgery and put everything in the hands of Dr. Isabel Aleixo, in whom they had great confidence.

The enormous faith in the light guides and in God was especially important, because he believed that he would overcome the difficulties ahead.

Most of the time during his hospitalization, they lost hope for survival. On January 9, 2009, he was discharged from the hospital. After having undergone several surgeries, dozens of blood transfusions, and several comas, Fernando overcame yet another stage in his life. His wife Rosa, his children, his family, and his friends, who accompanied him during this phase, contributed a lot to this.

But Fernando is incredibly grateful to Dr. Isabel Aleixo, for all the long hours of support during the nearly 6 months he was hospitalized, not forgetting the rest of the team, especially the nurses and auxiliary staff. And a big thank you to his family doctor Dr. Zélia.

In 2010, after his recovery, Fernando Amaral stubbornly decided to go ahead with the Brasão Rosa project, stressing that only with his faith in God and the support of the light guides would he succeed in this project.

Brasão Rosa has two meanings: the first is because Fernando Amaral considers his wife a true queen, hence the name Brasão; the second is that his beloved is called Rosa. The two meanings are a tribute to who, together with him, has been completing every marathon. There was also the need to define a color and a symbol for Brasão Rosa. A coat of arms was designed, emphasizing the queen, and orange was chosen, a neutral yet lively color that would fit the project.

Fernando Amaral decided that his project would market high turnover disposable and consumable products. Excellent suppliers would be needed to have good products at the best prices.

He also decided that the project would only be solid if it was a family business, in a concept with wife and children. Fernando Amaral, on January 9, 2011, inaugurated the Brasão Rosa project, opening a point of sale in Queluz, Monte Abraão. At the time, having a vehicle for distribution and a collaborator, the first steps were taken in the Brasão Rosa project.

In 2013, it already had 782 clients. He considered it necessary to make a readjustment in the project. In May 2013, he hired an additional employee to support telephone sales, bought a new vehicle for distribution, and decided to create a website with an online store.

In July 2013, the Brasão Rosa project become  a success! The billing of the year 2012, compared to 2011, increased 22%. Considering the crisis we went through, at a national level, this success was considered by many as outstanding.

Our success is due to the partners and suppliers, to the esteemed clients and to the elements that collaborate internally and externally with Brasão Rosa.
